Akoben Collectives - Community Schools

AKOBEN COLLECTIVES - COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

Mission

The Akoben Collectives - Community Schools (ACCS) mission is to provide basic and advanced  K through 12th grade education and training services to students from the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, and students throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The academic instruction will be accomplished through progressive onsite academics enhanced through trades, technology, and hands on curricula. The Akoben Collectives - Community Schools shall use an African Heritage and Diasporan Centered Cultural Focus as the core socializing factor and methodology for matriculation. The Rites of Passage Systems deliver that core socializing method. Particular interests and supports will also be given to economically disadvantaged, traditionally under-represented, historically low-performing, ethnic and minority populations. The Akoben Collectives - Community Schools will be open starting in middle to late August 2020.

The Akoben Collectives - Community Schools (ACCS) is a not-for-profit educational and charitable corporation designed to serve pupils, parents, adults, families, and communities in the State of Pennsylvania, who desire to engage in K - 12th grade curricula, a progressive education system, a supportive African Heritage focus, and a dynamic African Diasporan Cultural modality for the educational models for school-aged youth. The educational and charitable services are open to each and every student regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religious backgrounds, economic status, ability, or sex.

The Rites of Passage Systems provide the means and effort to establish a substantial education and training regimen in this cyber charter school model. And this provides a solution for those parents and children who believe that an authentic curriculum based on African Heritage would produce students with a strong sense of cultural identity and first class grades. It is believed that with the current crisis in education it is now incumbent on the parents to develop and effectively demonstrate an alternative approach to teaching their children. One focused approach that requires total parental and student engagement, and has a strong focus on discipline and community responsibility, is a school that can deliver an outstanding educational performance.

The Akoben Collectives - Community Schools (ACCS) will be very successful with its  curriculum, and an African Heritage socialization system that explores the best of academics and the contributions of Africans throughout the international Diaspora. Such a curriculum will be global in nature, and will reinforce a strong sense of African Heritage. Such a school will develop conscious, positive, well educated young people with a strong sense of moral purpose and community responsibility.
