Activities, Programs, and Events

Technology: Each student, upon enrollment in the school, must first build their Dual Core Pentium PC (Personal Computer) from ‘scratch’. This computer will remain at home for the student’s usage on-line after-hours. Then, each student participates in a Rites of Passage challenge series, whereby they will have the chance to obtain a brand new 64GB Apple iPad. All iPads will have Wi-Fi and 3G/4G Internet access capabilities, and will be complete with software, Apps, camera, Defender® carrying case, wireless slate, and other accessories. Students can take classes at home, at the career exploration training sites, and anywhere else in the World!!

Globe Trekkers’ Academy: Students and their parents are invited to attend various Rites of Passage expeditions and standard trips throughout the year. Expeditions include trips to cities throughout the United States of America, and will also include trips to Africa, South America, Central America, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean. Students will take classes over the Internet and through live interactive video links with their teachers while traveling in other countries!!

World Languages: Youth participants will utilize the on-line curriculum from the National Connections Academy® and also the Rosetta Stone® Language Software© to develop skills to speak fluent Espanõl (Spanish), French, Swahili, Portuguese, German, Latin, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), etc. Metu Ra En Khamit (Hieroglyphics) is also taught!! Then, students shall be immersed in countries and States where they will speak the language of that region!!

Post Secondary/College and Career Preparation: Students participate in ACT/SAT/ASVAB preparation, completion of college/university/tech and trade school applications, will visit colleges and universities, and take part in math/reading/writing assessments to get their skills onto the college levels, tech/trades levels, or military levels needed.

Athletics: Students will be eligible to participate in Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) and intramural athletics that include, but are not limited to, the following for young Men and young Women: Football; Basketball; Baseball; Soccer; Gymnastics; Swimming; SCUBA Diving; Skiing; Snowboarding; Snow-Tubing; Boxing; Martial Arts; Archery; Riflery; Biking; Spinning; Horseback Riding; All Terrain Vehicles (ATV); Track and Field; Rock Climbing; Rappelling; Cross Country; Wrestling; Fishing; Hiking; Wilderness Survival; Orienteering; Sailing; etc.
